Christmas in Germany is by far the best time of year for the Germans. All the preparations for Christmas Day, Christmas markets and of course, German goodies, as the German Christmas punch and German Christmas cookies, make the most festive atmosphere. The countdown to Christmas begins in December when the kids open the calendar each day looking forward, hiding chocolates or other small things, until it is Christmas. The Germans usually decorate their homes with all kinds of Christmas decorations, including the nativity scene with religious figures, Christmas pyramids, Christmas lights and nutcracker dolls.
